PARENTS:

Born in 1959 in South Trinidad, Wayne was raised with humble and strict parents. Wayne's father worked at Trinidad Leaseholds Limited in Pointe a Pierre, Trinidad at that time but moved with his wife and young family, to Point Fortin after United British Oilfields hired him in 1959 during a strike. Mr. Abraham crossed picket lines to take up employment

THE EARLY YEARS:

Wayne attended preschool in Mahaica,Point Fortin and then moved on ( a stone throw away) to Point Fortin Intermediate RC School at the time that the late Fitzroy Singh was principal. Among his teachers were Mr Simonette, Mr Douglas, Ms Wlison, Mrs Clarke, Mr Brown and Mr Pacheco.

Wayne grew up hunting crabs, pelting mangoes, searching for Guava patches and playing cricket with the neighborhood boys. In the era when there were no video games and just one black and white TV channel the outdoors was the place to be and catching catfish and sea crabs at the mouth of the Guapo river was the preferred past time for most little boys form the area.

This closeness to nature must have been the early training ground for this talented photographer. From a baby in arms and throughout his young adult life Wayne could found swimming or jogging at Clifton Hill and Guapo beach.

THE TRANSITION INTO ADULTHOOD :

At Point Fortin College Wayne became interested in photography when darkroom equipment arrived at the school in 1977. Mrs. Anita Lee Young, Gene Bacchus, Mr. Richarson, and Mr. Nimchand were teachers at the school then. Wayne leaned the basics of black and white development and printing but never followed up on his interest before 2003.

THE PHOTOGRAPHY BUG BITES AGAIN:

A quarter century later the photography bug bit again with the arrival of the age of digital photography. Wayne took a basic course in portrait photography at Trinidad Theatre Workshop under the tutorship of the late Arnot Joseph (Humming Bird Gold recipient).

Drawing on inspiration from the charming and wise old man Wayne went on the University of the West Indies School of continuing studies 2nd year class where he met Desmond Clarke, master portrait photographer, printmaker and photo educator. Wayne has honed his skill under this challenging master and has recently received the Golden Eagle Award for being at the top of his photography group in skill talent and persistence.

FUZZYBEAR,THE HUGGABLE
Wayne has been dubbed "Fuzzybear" by his fellow photographers for his warm approach to his portrait subjects. Though primarily a portrait, glamour, and fine art photographer, Fuzzybear is interested in all types of photography, digital art and print making.
